Peter Gurr, DDS
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in San Antonio, TX
Dr. Peter Gurr earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish translation from Brigham Young University , and completed dental school at Buffalo State University , graduating cum laude with his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2008. While attending dental school, he received an award for student leadership.
Dr. Gurr continues to advance his education and training as a dentist as often as possible, seeking to learn daily as he practices. He has completed advanced training in many areas, including special needs dentistry and laser dentistry. He completed his pediatric residency in Arizona and became a board-certified pediatric dentistry through the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD). As a dentist, his goal is to improve lives by starting children on the best path to health and wellness.
When he isn’t working, Dr. Gurr is usually helping his wife take care of their four sons, including one son that they fostered and are now trying to adopt. His hobbies include participating in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America , where he has served as an assistant, a cub den leader, and a Scoutmaster. Dr. Gurr also enjoys playing most sports (especially basketball), and building and fixing things. He loves dark chocolate and nuts, and totally digs the Piano Guys!

Maria Montoya, DDS, MS
Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in San Antonio, TX
Originally from Venezuela, Dr. Montoya earned her dental degree at the University of The Andes in Venezuela. Following dental school, Dr. Montoya went on to work in her hometown and fell in love with pediatric dentistry. She then decided to pursue her education further at UAB in Birmingham, Alabama to become a pediatric dentist.
Dr. Montoya and her family have grown to love Birmingham as a home but are excited to start their next chapter in San Antonio, Texas. In Texas, Dr. Montoya hopes to treat each of her patients with the utmost respect as if they were her own. She has a special place in her heart for her patients with special needs and enjoys watching her patients grow and accomplish goals of their own.
On the weekends, Dr. Montoya likes to read and spend time with her husband, 2 daughters, and 3 dachshunds, exploring new places, and finding delicious foods. Make sure to let Dr. Montoya know of your favorite activities and restaurants in San Antonio and to also give her a big Texas welcome!

Chrishell Yates Arnason, DDS Orthodontist
Dr. Yates discovered her passion for orthodontics early on, inspired by her own positive experience with braces as a teenager. After high school, she began working as an orthodontic assistant at a local practice, where she quickly realized she had found her calling. She went on to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco in 2011, followed by a Master’s degree in Orthodontics from the University of Colorado in Denver in 2014.
As an orthodontic specialist, Dr. Yates is committed to helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles that last a lifetime. She places strong emphasis on early orthodontic evaluations to identify and address any skeletal or crowding concerns at an optimal stage. Her approach focuses on providing individualized care in a welcoming, supportive environment—and above all, making the journey to a beautiful smile both enjoyable and rewarding.
Outside the office, Dr. Yates enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters, Emilia and Ava. Together, they love spending time outdoors—biking, skiing, camping, and discovering new restaurants. In quieter moments, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and experimenting in the kitchen.
